The Kin-Der-Kids by Lyonel Feininger (0770-) - 1st Sunday Comic Appearance April 29, 1906 - The Kin-Der-Kids was one of two titles created by noted cubist artist Lyonel Feininger. The Kin-der-kids was the loose story of 3 young brothers taking a world cruise in their bath tub. The strip was whimsical and fun, but the real attraction of the strip was the extraordinary artwork of Feininger. Feininger mixed impressionistic images with bold panoramas to create a true classic. Feininger would leave the strip after a short eight months. He would go on to assignments which allowed him to develop his artistic style much further. He would eventually gain a very high place in art history. Because of the extraordinary quality of the strip,  the celebrity of Feininger, and it's very brief run in a single newspaper, Kin-Der-Kids pages command an exceptionally high premium.  Offered as Full-Size pages, the rarity of these make them highly sought-after in virtually any condition.

S0770-0001 1906/07/29 - F FR/FR/FR $475.00 "Melancholy loss of the Jimjam relief-expedition baloon" The balloon is repaired aboard Pillsbury's ship.  Unfortunately the balloon gets away with the captain blows cigar smoke in it to fill it back up. This page is in  rough condition. The registration is good with faded colors. The paper is only marginally supple and should be handled with care. The perimeter shows significant chipping with archival tape on the reverse. There is also a very small, quarter-inch hole that is covered by the reverse archival tape. Luckily that defect barely intrudes in the lower right panel in the portion of the panel representing the sky, thus not touching any artwork. The archival tape repairs a larger 'invisible tear'  intruding into that same bottom right panel at the bottom. Regardless of the defects, this page is visually nice and still very collectable.
S0770-0002 1906/09/09 - F FR/FR/FR $475.00 "Piemouth is rescued by Kind-Hearted Pat"  Fatty Piemouth is saved from a double-dose of Castor Oil by being sucked up through the chimney.  This page is in okay condition.  The registration is good with faded colors.    The paper is only marginally supple and should be handled with care. S0770-0003 1906/11/11 - F FR-G/FR-G/FR $525.00 "Thrilling Adventures with Wolves in the Wilderness"  They put the Bathtub on a sled and trudge through the snowy woods.   They a put upon by a pack of wolves,  but they fight them off with a dose of black pepper. This page is in  okay condition.  The registration is good with faded colors. The paper is only marginally supple and should be handled with care.
